ADVERTISEMENT

Coca-Cola is launching its new brand campaign:
"Reach for the Stars, Reach for a Coke." and has partnered with KitBash3D to search for talented artists to create a five (5) second Proof of Concept for the Advertising Campaign.

CONCEPTS

WISH UPON A STAR

Considering the brand mission of CocaCola, Coke are branded to be impactful and influential. After bunch of sketching, I think the best way to depict the correlation between coke and star is a childhood's dream.
While the dream is the "star", Coke sparks creativity and help you to reach for the star!

DEVELOPMENT

TIME CRUNCH!

Thinking back to the table I had as a kid, it was terrible! There were doodles and scribbles everywhere, and my favorite toys were always lying around. To recreate that specific look of a child’s desk, we needed a bit of that same mess.
I collected a series of references for Coke-branded and related toys and brought them to life by modeling them in Cinema 4D.

CREATING THE SECOND SCENE WITH KITBASH 3D

Part of the requirement was to create the project with a provided CocaCola bottle and the Kitbash 3D Mission to Minerva. After downloading the assets, I processed the assets in Houdini Solaris. By organizing assets into material variant and lighting variants, saving them into the Asset Library became a easy process. The asset prepping also speed up the design process later on.

JUMPING BETWEEN HOUDINI AND C4D...👀

Importing the character from C4D was direct yet little tricky. After importing the character model as FBX, I needed to manually split it up again in Houdini for texturing and animating.
And LUCKILY, the animated UV worked as I plug it in...

After all that, I plug everything in and connect the character's position to the cola bottle's transform node for animation!

THEN I JUST FOCUSED ON PUTTING EVERYTHING IN...HERE IS THE TREE!

It was challenging to design the scene around the interior of the Kitbash assets as everything is baked in. But the scene came to life with some extra assets, lightings and camera DOF!

BREAKDOWN

Post production of this project was straight-forward as majority of the work is done in Cinema 4D and Houdini. So the last step was to put everything in After Effect and connect all the renders and assets!
