LET'S DIVE INTO THE PROCESS!

DEVELOPMENT

As the project focus is to learn the pipeline to work in Houdini,
also how to work with Houdini Solaris and Karma render. So instead of modeling our own assets, we used the car models from Wire Wheels Club!
Importing asset was straight-forward, however the process of separating parts was a littttle tidious...

ANIMATION PROCESS

With the assistance from our technical director(Christian Huthmacher!) and separating the car into parts, I was able to create a simple car rig within Houdini. After assets prep, I was able to animate the car however I want like I am actually driving it! It was quite interesting because I don't know how to drift in real life haha, so it was lots of trial and error to make this as cool as I can)

LEARNING SIMULATIONS...

Learning Houdini simulations is a overwhelming(little scary) process! So with the help of the guidance from our technical director, I was able to create a mud simulation that reacts to the movement of the car.

TRUST THE PROCESS...👀

Lastly is to focus on the scene building. With different trees variants and scattering, I was able to create a forest scene for the animation.

Post production of this project was straight-forward and simple.
Just a slight touch on the contrast, bokeh and satuation!
